Yay! I'm so glad you're going to blog about your adventure. Awesome description of Kotzebue. And thanks for including the photo of your "interesting" house. Love your comment and your landlord's response even more!

Hi Li,
I'm delighted we'll be able to share your adventure. The mystery of the slanting walls (sounds like an old Nancy Drew book) - do they slant inside as well? A decorating challenge . . .

Love your writing, you know how to paint a picture in the mind! Speaking of pictures, who is that handsome devil leaning against the strangely shaped/"Alaska" house? Shine on, brave one!

Are you having fun, yet? Glad to hear from you. We miss you down in the lower 48. The Lascaux Review, an on-line journal, is having a flash fiction contest through Sept. 22, I think. You might want to check it out. I sent in one of my stories after paring away about 200 words. The word limit is 250 words, max. It is hard to be brief, yet get in the important stuff. So it goes. Wow! What an adventure. I am really enjoying your blog and the pics. Keep 'em coming;)

WOW by chance a fellow student happened upon your blog. After reading it, I'm glad to see that my favorite teacher is ALIVE and kickin'. I am also glad to see that you are having fun on your exciting new adventure of life, and wish you good luck in the cold northern world.
